Five offline marketing strategies
Jan 10, 2025You may have seen on my social media – if not you can hear the clip here – that the marketing lead at Buzzsprout – the hosting company for the Creativity Found podcast – gave a whole load of podcasters ideas for ways to market their shows offline, in the real world!
I have taken his idea and will soon be sending members of the Creativity Found Collective who have also been guests on the podcast, stickers to send out with their products or kits that direct the recipient to their episode of the show.
This prompted me to look into other ways we can market our small business NOT online. Many offline marketing strategies boast some amazing results, and do this without needing to cost too much.
At least, that’s the case when you’re using the best marketing strategies for your needs. With offline marketing, some can stand out quite a bit, and can offer some significant results for a relatively low cost.
Participate in Events
Industry events are always worth taking part in. They’re attended by countless people who’ll have an active interest in the products or services you offer. They’re primed for a sale because of that. By attending these and promoting your company at them, you’ll end up seeing a noticeable uptick in your brand awareness and overall sales in the short-term.
Printed Marketing Materials
Flyers, pamphlets, and other printed marketing materials can all be great for marketing. They put your brand literally in your customers’ hands, helping to engage them much more. While you’ll need to invest in their design and pamphlet or book printing, it’ll be more than worth it. Once you’ve nailed these, you shouldn’t have a problem seeing results.
Sponsor a Local Team
When you’re focusing on a local demographic, it’s always worth focusing on local marketing. Sponsoring a local team is one of the better ways you can do this. You’ll get your brand in front of countless people every week, and you’ll even generate a decent bit of goodwill because of it.
Run Newspaper Ads
Advertising in newspapers has become less popular in favour of digital counterparts, but that doesn’t mean it can’t be helpful. In fact, it may be much more affordable now than you’d think, making it one of the more cost-effective marketing strategies. It’s just a matter of finding newspapers your target market reads and investing in an ad to generate visibility.
Brand Some Swag
People love getting free stuff, and it can always be worth taking advantage of this for your marketing. With branded swag, this shouldn’t have to be a problem. Quite the opposite. You’ll help to generate goodwill among the people you give this branded merchandise to, while also generating brand awareness. In time, you could even sell these to generate more revenue.
Every business wants to make sure its marketing is as effective as possible. While digital marketing can be great for this, offline marketing strategies can help, too. They’re often some of the better-recommended options in certain instances and could offer some significant results going forward.
It’s just a matter of making sure you’re using the right ones for your needs. Some of these can stand out much more than others. They’ll be relatively affordable and offer some great results, making them cost-effective options to try.
